An initial orientation meeting – this meeting is required of each new resident during his arrival at Moraine House. All residents participate in the Recovery Dynamics program and the Back to Basics program. Both of these programs are designed to explore and explain methods of recovery. There is an AA or NA meeting held on Moraine House premises each day. Residents are required to attend at least three of these meetings each week.
LENGTH OF STAY
The recovery of a resident is an individual one. Length of stay at Moraine House is dependent upon an individual’s progress and consultation with and consideration of the screening committee. The average stay is 180 days.
ELIGIBILITY
A resident of Moraine House must have a sincere desire to stop using chemicals—it is the vital key to his recovery from chemical dependency, he must be able to meet a financial obligation toward expenses of his stay at Moraine House. There is a weekly fee for residents of the house; prospective residents must be able to pay the first week’s rent In advance. He must be willing to follow the Moraine House Code of Conduct.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The cardinal rule for every resident of Moraine House is the maintenance of sobriety. The use of Alcoholic Beverages or any other drug-dependent chemicals is absolutely prohibited – without exception. Participation in the Moraine House program is expected. The right to privacy of each resident must be considered. Therefore, guests and visitors are not permitted in bedrooms and cannot remain over night. It is expected that all residents help in the general Maintenance of Moraine House, which includes good housekeeping of their own personal quarters.
THE FACILITY
Moraine House is a home whose basic function has been modified to meet its own specific needs.
